Intentionality

I read today a statement that said "living a healthy life is easy, but in today’s society being unhealthy is easier.." - Intentional Health

After spending the last 6.5 weeks trying to intentionally live healthier, I 100% agree with this statement. I used to think being healthy was hard, but I've found that I can be happy with my eating, happy with how my body feels, and happy with my emotions with 30 seconds of intentionality throughout the day.

When I get ready for breakfast, I take 30 seconds to intentionally plan what I'm going to eat. In the past the hurdle for me would be time to prepare and lack of ideas of what to eat. By taking 30 seconds I'm able to think of what I'm going to eat, and then take 30 seconds to start preparing it and my mindset shifts to being comfortable with the steps to make sure I have a good breakfast to start off my day.

When I feel like I have conflicting needs or responsibilities during the day, it's easy to take 30 seconds and remind myself, I have time to accomplish both tasks. If I step away for 10 minutes to help my son, I won't fail at work. Likewise, if I have a difficult task at work, the intentionality of taking 30 seconds to start the task helps me clear off the to-do list and remain satisfied that I've accomplished all I need to.

Intentionality is easy, and it leads to a healthy life. Being unintentional is also easy, but it leads to an unhealthy life.

Being intentional has given me:

- a healthier body

- a more satisfying relationship with my children (and happier children too)

- a better relationship with my wife

- emotional stability

- improved mental health

- happiness

I'm  not perfect in any way, but by being intentional I've felt like I've felt so much better about myself and my life. It's okay to make mistakes. Learn from them, and improve.
