It's been awhile since I posted. Not for lack of good results, just lack of time to journal.
I've been going at this for approximately 85 days. The results have been incredible. I feel really good. Here are some of my stats* in that time.
* I'm missing about 5 days of step data from when I was on vacation and my watch died and I didn't have my charger.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
TOTAL STEPS: 844,281 (80 days of data as noted above)
DAILY AVERAGE STEPS: 10,554
WEIGHT LOSS: 30 lbs. - I hit exactly 30 today! (217.6 --> 187.6)

As I've spent the last 3 months working on this I am frequently asked what did I do to make the change. What has helped me accomplish these goals. On the surface, I don't feel like I've really made life changes, but I think that is because historically when I've done stuff like this I've gone all out on a diet.
I stop eating.
I count calories.
I restrict myself.
While I had success for a moment with those, they were never sustainable. I've made some big changes, and it has been hard work, but I haven't felt like I had to change.
The biggest thing that has led to my success is intentionality.
I intentionally think about what I'm going to eat.
I'm intentional about moving my body during the day to get 10,000 steps.
When I indulge myself in a overly sugary treat, I'm intentional about fueling my body with nutrients the next day.
It's made a world of a difference.
But what have I done? Here is what I try to do each day:
10,000 steps
64+ oz of water
I send a picture of all my food to Jacob Martin - he provides feedback and holds me accountable. Protein and veggies and nutrient rich food is what I try for.
I do workout more than I did before, it varies between cardio and weights. Right now I'm trying to do 4 days of weights and 100 pushups a day.
I saw this post from Kyle Collinsworth the other day (Former BYU Basketball and Dallas Mavericks player):
I'm forming habits right now, but trying to build a lifestyle. I've felt so much better about myself as I've done this. It feels good to feel good about yourself.
